PokerPac

PokerPac, the political action committee of America’s Poker Players Alliance (PPA) advocacy group, has released a list of Congressional candidates that it is endorsing for the 2010 mid-term elections taking place on November 2.

The full list of some 58 Democrat and Republican candidates is available at The PPA.org and includes Jim McDermott running for re-election from Washington’s Seventh Congressional District and incumbent Ron Paul from the 14th Congressional District of Texas.

“Through the efforts of the PPA and its members, more and more of our elected officials in Congress are seeing the value of establishing a safe, regulated market for online poker,” said former United States Senator Alfonse D'Amato, Chairman for the PPA.

“This year's election is critical to ensuring that candidates are elected who support the rights of poker players and who choose to take action to protect American consumers. PokerPac is proud to endorse these candidates who have been advocates for poker players and this great game we all love.”

PokerPac revealed that it has based its endorsements on whether a candidate has demonstrated their support of poker ‘via votes on online poker legislation such as HR 2267, co-sponsorship of bills, Congressional letters of support and public statements’.

“Through these actions, PokerPac is confident these individuals will be strong advocates for poker rights in the next Congress,” said former Congressman Toby Moffett, Vice-Chairman for PokerPac.
